Care Instructions:
• Maple wood is a forgiving hardwood and the natural material will expand and contract with moisture and humidity. Regular regimented care of this product will protect it for years to come. Grain variation is to be expected.
• Handwash with warm, soapy water after each use and dry thoroughly with a towel.
• Never soak or submerge in water, run in a dishwasher, or use in a microwave.
• Placing hot pots or pans on your board can result in a lasting burn mark.
• Apply a mineral oil or beeswax conditioner with a lint free cloth, to all surfaces, including edges and ends-- once a week or at any time the board feels dry. This is particularly important during the drier months of the year to prevent the board from becoming too dry and warping.
• If any warping occurs, place the board flat on your counter and repeatedly apply mineral oil or beeswax oil on both sides until it straightens out.
• If at any time the grain of your product becomes raised, causing a rough feeling, a light buffing in the affected area with 200 grit sandpaper will smooth the finish. Reapply a wood conditioner after this process.
